In a wonderfully restored plantation house, just south of Holetown, Sassafras leaps apart from the status quo. The concept is refreshingly simple -- great food in a casual, laid-back style. The lunch menu features everchanging sandwiches (grilled chicken with cashew butter and pepper jelly on housemade panini) and salads (The Greek -- grilled halloumi, kalamata olives, sweet peppers, cucumber, and sun-ripened tomatoes) as well as classic Steak Frites and pan-roasted fish. The constantly evolving dinner menu offers grilled meats (molasses glazed pork tenderloin with grilled papaya salsa), seafood, fish and marvelous vegetarian specialties.
